The Budega Jangam people live in south India. They are known as wandering monks and gurus devoted to Shiva, the "destroyer" god of Hinduism. When a Jangam monk arrives in a village, he is treated as though he were Lord Shiva. Some Jangam have left their original occupation as monks and taken jobs in agriculture, small business and government. The Jangam often perform rituals, dance and play music in temples dedicated to Shiva. The main language of the Jangam is Telegu. Bibles and literature are available in their language. Hindu background believers can share with the Jangam the blessings of knowing Christ and having their sins forgiven.

Since the Jangams' identity and history are directly tied to a destructive Hindu god, they might be under an exceptional amount of spiritual oppression.

Pray that the tiny number of Jangam believers would be trained to share the gospel with their Hindu families and neighbors. Pray that a strong movement to Jesus would bring entire Jangam families and communities into a rich experience of God's blessings. Pray for the Holy Spirit to work powerfully through those ministering to the Budega Jangam people. Pray that God would overthrow spiritual forces of darkness opposing the spread of his gospel among them.
